If you are like me, and looking for new ways on how to prevent allergies, you probally heard these phrases before. Allergies can be pretty heavy in Central Florida because of it’s high pollen index.

Since I do a lot of work outside, I am always sneezing and I look for the latest “remedy” or “insider knowledge” to learn how to prevent allergies. Well I want to share with you this interesting story.
This is my neighbor’s house. She also suffers from allergies. As you can see in the picture, her roof is pretty much black. It is a 15 year old roof, covered with mold and mildew.
Since I own a roof cleaning company, we needed a training exercise for our new employees, and I also wanted to be a good neighbor. I was actually shocked to see how much mold and mildew her shingles had collected.
As you can see in the picture below, it got pretty nasty up on the roof.
We applied our cleaning detergent with a low pressure pump, and safely rinsed it off with a garden hose shortly after use.
As you can see in the pictures, our roof cleaning process had immediate results, and her 15 year old roof looked brand new again.
Not bad in a day’s worth of work.
How To Prevent Allergies
To my suprise, my neighbor recently said her allergies has gotten much better. As a result of our roof cleaning, she said her sneezing has decreased. Well think about it. If your roof is covered with mold and mildew where does it go ?
Mildew spores on your roof work their way down through your ventilation. If you clean the roof, it will help stop the spread of mold spores.
She is so happy, that she is even considering cleaning her roof each year.
The good news is that we helped train some new employees, gained a new customer for next year, and learned that cleaning your roof is another way on how to prevent allergies.
